“The show questions the reductionist approaches to science as well as binary divisions between mind and body, subject and object, self and other, and wishes to raise awareness of how we are fundamentally entangled with other beings, both human and non-human.”

-Chiarina Chen, Curator

This thesis exhibition brought together collections of past works produced during my two years at MIT alongside a new immersive installation and a series of durational performances.

The exhibition also co-opted the form of a participant/participatory research study. 15 individuals from the extended MIT community signed-up to participate in an experimental artistic research study. In these experiments I cross-referenced methodologies of scientific research and performance art to guide each participant through 90 minute multi-sensory experiences.

Experimental Study Process

As a closing event, I performed a 24hr long durational performance in which I embedded myself within the walls of the exhibition space and engaged the space/audience via a live interactive text based performance.
